A standard U.S. gallon contains 128 ounces, so 3 liters is equal to 101.4 ounces.
A liter is a metric unit of volume which is equal to 33.8 fluid ounces in the U.S. system of measurement. As a result, 3 liters is equal to 101.4 fluid ounces. This is significantly less than the amount found in a gallon – approximately 2/3 of a gallon – and it is about eight pints’ worth of liquid.
In terms of usage, 3 liters is often enough to provide beverages for between four and six people, depending on individual consumption levels. For instance, one liter of bottled water can provide four servings; three liters can provide up to 12. It is also enough to fill most pitchers.
In other parts of the world, the metric system may consider 3 liters to be a different measurement than the U.S. system. In those cases, 3 liters is equal to approximately 2.64 U.S. gallons or around 105.5 ounces. As a result, when measuring liquids for use in hydration or other usage, it is important to check the local system of measurement before making conversions.
