The sudden and tragic death of Chadwick Boseman earlier this year hit Marvel fans hard. Boseman was a beloved actor best known for playing Marvel’s first black superhero, T’Challa, in 2018’s Black Panther.
Now, fans are wondering who will step into the role after him in the upcoming Black Panther 2.
Some fans want to see Wakanda’s throne passed on to Letitia Wright, who plays T’Challa’s sister, Shuri, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Shuri is an incredibly smart and powerful character, making her an ideal successor.
Others believe that Michael B. Jordan, who plays Erik Killmonger, should take on the role. Jordan has proven himself to be an incredible actor and his stoic yet passionate portrayal of Killmonger was highly praised by fans.
Another possibility is Michael B. Jordon, who plays Adonis Creed in the Rocky movies. As Creed, Jordan has made the character his own and his chemistry with Boseman’s T’Challa in the last Black Panther was undeniable.
Still other fans might suggest someone outside the Marvel Cinematic Universe, perhaps an actor with strong physicality like Idris Elba or Denzel Washington. While it’s impossible to know who Marvel will ultimately choose, all these choices are sure to fill Boseman’s shoes and honor his incredible talent and spirit.
