Madara Uchiha, one of the most powerful shinobi in Naruto lore, has gained legendary powers through a variety of means. His signature abilities are his Mangekyō Sharingan and Rinnegan. Here we will look at how Madara acquired the Rinnegan.
It is said Madara’s Rikudō Sennin heritage granted him access to a powerful chakra, known as the Six Paths Chakra. This chakra is capable of integrating with the Uchiha’s Sharingan. As a result, Madara awakened the Rinnegan through mixing his Six Paths Chakra with his Sharingan power.
To further increase the power of the Rinnegan, Madara transplanted Hashirama’s DNA into himself, giving him access to even greater power. Hashirama’s Wood Release chakra was also instrumental in strengthening Madara’s Rinnegan.
As part of his Rinnegan enhancement, he also took possession of the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path. This statue granted him control over the Gedo Statue, allowing him to infinitely increase his own strength. When properly merged with Hashirama’s wood release chakra, this gave him access to even more powerful abilities.
By combining these methods, Madara was able to gain the Rinnegan. He harnessed the unique power of this eye to great effect throughout the series, using it to gain access to powerful techniques such as the Outer Path — Samsara of Heavenly Life Technique. Madara’s access to the Rinnegan is one of the main reasons why he was considered to be the most powerful shinobi in the Fourth Great Shinobi War.
