How Did Randy Rhoads Die

Guitar virtuoso Randy Rhoads is remembered as a revolutionary musician and a talented guitar player who changed the face of rock music. On March 19th, 1982, Randy Rhoads fell silent when his private plane crashed near a small housing development outside of Leesburg, Florida.

While Randy and the band were travelling on tour, Andy had decided to take a small plane owned by tour bus driver Andrew Aycock on a joyride with Randy as his passenger. What seemed to be a normal flight quickly turned tragic, when the plane buzzed too close to the tour bus and lost control, crashing into a nearby field.

Randy Rhoads’ cause of death was blunt force trauma and the fire that soon followed the crash. Andy Neill and the plane’s pilot, Andrew Aycock, were also killed in the accident. Randy’s death was a shock to the music world and fans were crushed. But Randy has since been remembered as one of the greatest guitarists of all time.
