Springs From Denver
Colorado Springs, the state’s second largest city, is about 74 miles south of Denver. Driving between the two cities by car takes about 1.5 hours, depending on traffic and other conditions.
The cities are connected by I-25, a long, straight stretch of highway with several speed limits changing between 70 to 75 miles per hour. The length of the drive is usually 75-80 miles, but the winding roads and numerous stoplights can make the trip longer.
If you’re traveling by bus, Greyhound buses leave Denver several times each day, and you can expect the trip to take a little over two and a half hours. Amtrak also offers train services between the two cities, and the journey usually lasts just over two hours.
For those wanting a more scenic route, the mountains of Colorado provide a great backdrop if you choose to drive. Taking the US-85 S and avoiding the bigger highways can be a more leisurely route, and the drive can last from three to four hours depending on the stops along the way.
Regardless of the form of transportation chosen, Colorado Springs can be a great and accessible getaway for those located in Denver.
