Kirby and the Forgotten Land is an action-packed side-scrolling platformer that was developed and released by HAL Laboratory, Inc. in 2011. The game was released exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS and was the fourth installment in the Kirby series.
The game follows the titular Kirby’s quest to help King Dedede restore color and life to the dream-like world of Pop Star. The game is divided into six worlds, each made up of 3-5 levels. These levels range from sprawling landscapes and underground caves to haunted mansions and towering skyscrapers. Each world is filled with hidden items and power-ups that Kirby must collect in order to restore the world.
The six worlds in Kirby and the Forgotten Land are:
-Fountain Gardens: This world has serene gardens, blooming flowers and a magical fountain that grants Kirby special abilities.
-The Lonely Forest: This is a somber wooded area where Kirby must avoid the monsters and beasts that haunt the area.
-Slimy Passage: A slimy, dungeon-like passage with puzzles and traps that Kirby must traverse to reach the secret of the Forgotten Land.
-Haunted Hollow: A spooky area filled with ghosts, ghouls and shadows that Kirby must vanquish in order to move on.
-Sky High: This is a dramatic sky-high city with tall buildings and fast-moving traffic that Kirby must travel through in his quest.
-Shadow Mountain: This is the mysterious mountain at the heart of the game. It is filled with challenging puzzles and enemies before Kirby can reach the final showdown.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land is one of the most beloved entries in the Kirby series and is filled with interesting worlds for Kirby to explore. With six worlds, each unique and filled with its own obstacles and enemies, there is plenty to keep Kirby players entertained from start to finish.
