Breaking a fever is not easy as it may seem. A fever is the body’s way of fighting off infection, and while it can be a sign of illness, it can also be a normal reaction to a virus or other type of infection. If a fever is causing you or your child discomfort or making them feel weak or unwell, there are a few methods you can use to reduce its severity and help them recover quickly.

Give Medications: Fever-reducing medications such as ibuprofen and acetaminophen can help reduce a fever. Look for the correct dosage for your child on the medication bottle or by asking your pediatrician.
Check Their Temperature: Check your child’s temperature regularly, especially if they’re exhibiting symptoms of a fever. A digital thermometer can easily be used to track the temperature. This way you can make sure the fever isn’t getting too high and is not persisting.
