If you own an Xbox One console, connecting an Xbox controller is a simple and straightforward process. To get started, turn on your Xbox console and make sure it is connected to the internet. Once you’ve done that, you’ll need to open the Guide. Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the Guide and scroll left to the gear icon which opens the settings menu. From here, you can go to "Devices & streamed" and select "Accessory settings". Select "Add new devices" and your console will look for any Bluetooth or wireless controllers.
Once you’ve found a controller, press the connect button on your controller, which is a button on the front side of the controller. A small round button with a stylized Xbox logo. Once pressed, this will activate the connection process. Xbox One controllers use a proprietary wireless communication protocol, which is slightly different than regular Bluetooth. So, you don’t have to worry about any pairing menus or steps as the console does all the work for you.
Once your controller is connected to your Xbox One, you can start playing games. The controller settings menu allows you to customize the behavior of your controller. You can remap buttons, adjust sensitivity, play audio through the controller and much more. When done, press the Xbox button to get back to the Home screen and start playing your favorite games!
