Ribs are a classic favorite for many people, and the good news is that you don’t need outdoor space or grills to enjoy them. With the help of your oven, you can create delicious, tender and fall-off-the-bone ribs that your family or guests will be sure to rave about.
Ingredients
2-3 lbs pork baby back ribs
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 Tbsp smoked paprika
1 Tbsp garlic powder
1 Tbsp onion powder
1/2 tsp ground cumin
2 tsp kosher salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 250 degrees.
-
Remove the thin membrane from the back of the ribs. To do this, slip a dinner knife in between the membrane and the first rib bone, at an angle and gradually pull up and away. Pull away the rest of the membrane until it’s fully removed.
-
Place ribs in a roasting pan and spread with your favorite BBQ sauce.
-
In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Stir and mix together to create a dry rub.
-
Sprinkle the dry rub on both sides of the ribs, evenly coating the top and all visible sides.
-
Cover the pan with a large piece of aluminum foil, ensuring it creates a tight seal around the edges of the pan.
-
Place in preheated oven and bake for 2 and a half hours.
-
Once time is up, take the ribs out of the oven and let rest for 30 minutes.
-
Preheat oven to 400 degrees, set to broil.
-
Remove foil from the pan and broil ribs in oven for approximately 8 minutes, or until beginning to caramelize.
-
Remove from oven, brush with extra BBQ sauce, and cut into individual portions. Serve and enjoy.
