When trainers first get their hands on an Inkay, it can seem like a daunting task to level it up into the evolved Pokemon, Malamar. However, don’t worry. This guide will explain the simple steps you need to take in order to train and evolve your Inkay.
The first step is understanding what makes an Inkay evolve. When an Inkay reaches Level 30, it will evolve into a Malamar. Additionally, an optional method is available. If players flip their 3DS on its side, then tap an Inkay with the stylus when it is at Level 30, it will “headstand” and evolve. Whichever method you use, the Inkay will evolve into a Malamar.
The next step is to gain experience and level your Inkay up to the required level. This can be done through the traditional method of battles, but if grinding isn’t your thing, you can use Vitamins to quickly evolve it. Vitamins such as Protein, Iron, Calcium and (for Inkay) Zinc can give your Inkay up to 10 EV points to reach level 30. Using vitamins will take out a lot of the grind and make it easier for trainers to level up their Inkay.
Once you’ve reached level 30, you can go ahead and use your preferred method to evolve your Inkay. It’s the same process at level 30, and you don’t need to worry about powering it up or “learning” a special move to evolve it.
And that’s it! Now you’ve successfully evolved your Inkay into a Malamar. With this powerful new Pokemon in your team, you can go on and complete your Pokedex, challenge friends in battle and become a Pokemon trainer to be reckoned with. Good luck!
