Quesadillas make for a delicious Tex-Mex treat, but there’s no need to order takeout. With a few simple ingredients and tools, you can easily make a homemade quesadilla in the comfort of your own kitchen.
Ingredients:
-Flour tortillas
-Shredded cheese
-Chopped cooked chicken, beef, pork, or turkey
-Sliced tomatoes
-Sliced bell peppers
-Sliced olives
-Chopped onions
-Diced jalapenos
-Salsa
Tools:
-Non-stick skillet
-Spatula
-Plate
-Sharp knife
Instructions:
Begin by heating a non-stick skillet on medium-high heat.
As the skillet is heating, begin to assemble your quesadilla. Place a flour tortilla on a plate and sprinkle with the shredded cheese. Then, top with whichever proteins and vegetables you are using.
Once the skillet is hot, place the quesadilla onto the skillet. Cook for approximately 3 minutes on each side, flipping the quesadilla over halfway through cooking. If the cheese begins to bubble or the edges of the tortilla become crispy, your quesadilla is done.
Use a spatula to carefully remove the quesadilla from the skillet and place it onto a plate.
Using a sharp knife, slice your quesadilla into 4-6 pieces. Serve with salsa and sour cream and enjoy!
