What is the Who Am I game?
The Who Am I game is a classic game of deduction and imagination. It’s a fun guessing game that can be played with friends and family. The premise of the game is simple: players take turns guessing the identity of an unknown person based on given clues.
How to Play
Choose an obscure person to use as your secret identity. This could be a celebrity, a historical figure, a fictional character, or anything else you can think of.
Each player takes turns giving clues to try and help their opponents guess their secret identity. Clues should be related to the person’s qualities, attributes, accomplishments, and interests.
Before giving a clue, the giver should decide whether the clue will make it easier or harder for the others to figure out their identity.
Give a clue and see if anyone can guess the identity. If not, reveal another clue and see if it helps.
The first player to guess the identity correctly wins the round.
Tips
To make the game more challenging, include a time limit for guessing the identity.
For younger players, you may use simpler, general clues (e.g. "I’m a famous musician" or "I’m a cartoon character").
Encourage creative thinking with your clues. Use metaphors and analogies, such as "I’m a master of disguise" or "I’m Cinderella in reverse."
Variations
This game can be adapted to any group size and can even be played alone. You can also modify the clues you give by providing a specific list of questions or items that the players must guess (e.g "Name three books I have read" or "What brand of shoes do I wear?"). This variation of the game is known as the "Mystery Bags" game.
