Saying "Yes" in Russian is easy. In Russian, the word for "Yes" is "Da." This can be pronounced in English either as "Dah" or "D-uh," depending on the context and how you want to express yourself.
Russian has two additional words that also mean "Yes" — "Agree" and "Aye." "Agree" (Агри) is used to agree with someone about what was just said, for instance to confirm that something is true. "Aye" (Ай) is used to express encouragement or to show enthusiasm.
To say the equivalent of "Yes, please" or "Yes, certainly" in Russian, you can say simply "Da, pozhaluysta ," which means "Yes, please." To respond with the equivalent of "Yes, of course," say "Da, konechno," which means "Yes, of course."
If you want to say "Yes" with more emphasis, you can say "Da, konechno, da !" (Yes, of course, yes !). This suggests that you are very enthusiastic about something.
When a question requires a short answer, you can simply say "Da" to express agreement. When a longer answer is called for, however, make sure to explain your answer. For example, if someone asks, "Do you like pizza?" You could say "Da, ya ochen vlyubilsya v picu" ("Yes, I really like pizza") for a more detailed response.
Saying "Yes" in Russian can be easily done with the word "Da," and there are also a few other ways to say "Yes" depending on the context. Expressing your enthusiasm with the phrase "Da, konechno, da !" will show how much you agree with something.
