We’ve all had that moment of dread when we realize that the email we’ve just sent contains the wrong information or an embarrassing typo. The good news is that there is an easy way to undo that accidental email with Outlook’s “unsend” feature.
When drafting an email in Outlook, click on the Options tab and select the “Delay delivery” checkbox. This will allow you to decide when the email will be sent, and even set it up to be sent at a later time or date.
Once you’ve checked the “Delay delivery” box, you can set how long you want to delay the email for. You can choose between 5 and 60 minutes, or set a customized waiting period.
Once you’ve sent the email, it is saved in your Outbox folder in Outlook. To find it, go to the Mail folder and click on Outbox in the left navigation bar.
Open the email that you want to unsend and click on the Options tab. Select “resend or unsend this message,” followed by the “unsend this message” option.
Once you click “unsend this message,” the email will be removed from the Outbox folder. This means that the email will not be sent nor will it be stored in your sent items folder.
Unsending an email in Outlook is an easy and effective way to avoid any potential email disasters. Just remember to always check your emails before sending them and use the “Delay delivery’ checkbox for an extra layer of protection.
