Isis K Who Are They

The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, commonly referred to as ISIS, is a terrorist organization operating in both countries. It was established in 2014 and is led by Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, with its primary aim being to create an Islamic caliphate in the region.

ISIS was founded by former members of al-Qaeda, due to their disagreements with that terrorist organization’s strategy. Originally, it operated from beginning to end under the original al-Qaeda organization before it splintered off to become its own entity. Since its formation, ISIS has been responsible for numerous atrocities, including the rape and murder of minorities, the enslavement of women and children, and mass killings.

ISIS is made up of fighters from various countries, including Iraq, Syria, and other parts of the Middle East. It is estimated that the group has between 20,000 and 30,000 members, many of whom are foreign fighters. It also has a large number of sympathizers in countries around the world, including the United States.

In addition to its violent attacks, ISIS has also targeted several Western-backed governments in its region. This includes the government of Syria, which was initially a major target of the organization. In recent years, it has also become involved in resource-related activities in both Iraq and Syria. This includes selling oil and gas, and operating banks and financial institutions.

In response to the threat posed by ISIS, several Western countries and their allies have launched a coordinated military campaign against the terrorist organization. Unfortunately, this has not yet stopped their violence or halted the spread of their influence in the region. Ultimately, the only way to defeat ISIS is to cut-off their funding and resources, and to work towards a stable and long-term solution in the region.
