Abilene, TX has recently seen a surge of activity in regards to law enforcement activity. The Abilene Police Department recently conducted a sting operation that resulted in the apprehension of dozens of individuals on charges ranging from possession of drugs, to prostitution, to public intoxication, and more.
The sting began on February 11th and police targeted a specific group of people that were believed to be involved in criminal activities. The police worked in conjunction with several other local law enforcement agencies, and many of the apprehended individuals were already on probation.
At least 18 individuals were arrested during the sting, and police confiscated heroin, methamphetamine, cocaine, hashish and other drugs. Many of those arrested for drug related crimes were also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. One of the individuals who was arrested and charged with prostitution was a minor.
Police say that the sting was designed to target individuals who were engaged in criminal activity, not just those who were suffering from addiction or in need of help with recovery. The goal was to put an end to the criminal activity that was taking place in the area and to make the community a safer place.
This latest sting is just one of many that has been conducted in Abilene in the recent months. The Abilene Police Department has been actively working to crackdown on drug related crimes and to make sure that those who are engaging in these activities are held accountable.
The individuals arrested during this sting will face serious consequences if found guilty of their alleged crimes.
