The Who, one of the greatest and most influential rock bands in history, have been thrilling crowds for decades with their signature blend of hard rock, classic rock and pop, creating an unmistakable sound that is uniquely theirs. With classic tracks like "My Generation" and "Pinball Wizard" alongside newer hits like "Real Good Looking Boy", The Who has gone down in rock history as one of the greatest bands of all time.
The Who has put on some of the craziest live shows around, with energy, enthusiasm and precision that few bands can match. Their set lists vary each tour, incorporated new songs and creating a unique experience each time they hit the stage. We want to take a look at some of the highlights from The Who’s ever-evolving set list.
One of the staples of The Who’s set list is “My Generation”, an iconic anthem that encapsulates the spirit of the band. As Roger Daltrey sings the classic lines “Why don’t you all f-f-fade away”, the crowd sings along in unison, further amplifying their spirits to the rafters. While The Who have recorded more well-known songs, “My Generation” has become a fan favorite that is constantly in their set list.
In recent years, The Who have revisited some of their earliest records, paying homage to their roots during their show. Their 2019 tour was a particular highlight for fans, as they delved into classic albums like Who’s Next and Quadrophenia. Fans were treated with hits off Quadrophenia like the epic nearly nine-minute long “Love Reign O’er Me”, as well as favorites like “Baba O’Reilly” and “The Real Me”.
More recent albums are also well-represented in The Who’s set list, and the 2019 tour saw them go all the way back to 2006’s Endless Wire – performing fan favorites like "It’s Not Enough" and “Fragments”. The 2019 tour also saw the return of “Real Good Looking Boy”, a crowd favorite that hadn’t been performed live in nine years.
The Who continue to thrill fans at every show, paying homage to the classics while introducing new songs to their ever-evolving set list. With an incredible legacy spanning over five decades and constantly pushing the boundaries of rock, The Who have created an iconic sound that will be remembered for a lifetime.
