The list of the world’s wealthiest individuals is constantly fluctuating. It can be easy to lose track of who is currently at the top of the list. To help keep you informed, here is a brief overview of some of the richest people in the world right now.
The crown for the world’s wealthy person goes to Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos. Jeff is currently estimated to have a net worth of around $179 billion. The bulk of his wealth is derived from the success of Amazon which he founded back in 1994. Bezos has also invested in other tech companies such as Blue Origin and The Washington Post.
Second on the list is the world-renowned software mogul, Bill Gates. With an estimated net worth of $116 billion, Gates is an American technology entrepreneur, investor, and philanthropist. He co-founded Microsoft in 1975 and has been ranked by Forbes as the richest man in the world for 18 out of the past 24 years.
Ranking third is the world’s youngest self-made billionaire, Facebook’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg. With a net worth of $97 billion, Zuckerberg is an American Internet Entrepreneur and philanthropist. He is the co-founder and CEO of the popular social media platform, Facebook.
Fourth in the list is investing guru Warren Buffett. He is the most successful investor of all time and has an estimated net worth of $94 billion. Buffett is worth thanks to a long and successful career which has seen him earn investments in companies such as Apple, Coca-Cola, Wells Fargo and American Express, amongst others.
Tied for fourth (and fifth, depending on the day) with Buffett is Bernard Arnault. Arnault is the Chairman and CEO of LVMH and is estimated to have a fortune of $94 billion. LVMH owns 75 subsidiary companies, most of them being famous fashion labels and luxury goods stores, such as Louis Vuitton, TAG Heuer and Hublot.
Although their net worths may fluctuate from time to time, these five individuals are the current richest people in the world and have been raking in enormous sums of money for years.
