Riches beyond the dreams of avarice were the lot of Mr. Geza Csanyi, Hungary’s most successful entrepreneur in recent memory – thanks to a successful toy he manufactured.
Despite his humble background, Geza Csanyi had an entrepreneurial streak and a knack for converting ideas into money. His journey to vast riches began with a friendly bet he made in 1992 with a colleague that he could design a successful toy and make money from it.
His wager paid off in the form of a toy called “Robo-Racers,” a miniature model car which could be driven like a remote-control toy car, but with pedals and a steering wheel. The product was originally priced at 20 Euros, and was met with such success that Csanyi had made enough money to expand the business.
He began a factory to produce the cars alongside other products such as children’s furniture, and soon had enough resources to build up a vast collection of investments and businesses. He soon had such success that he was identified as one of the wealthiest Hungarians in the country.
His new-found wealth did not stop him from working diligently. He continued to develop and improve his products, and soon Robo-Racers was selling for up to ten times its original price. Meanwhile, he invested in new areas, becoming the majority shareholder of MOL Group, a leading energy company.
Today, Csanyi’s fortune is estimated to be over a billion Euros, making him one of Hungary’s richest men. His success is a prime example of what can be achieved when determination and resourcefulness meet.
