Anthony Bridgerton is a fictional character from Julia Quinn’s romance series, The Bridgertons. Throughout the eight books in the series, Anthony, the eldest son of the Bridgerton family, experiences a range of different romantic relationships before ultimately settling down.
In Book 7: The Viscount Who Loved Me, Anthony meets the love of his life, Edward "Edwina" Sheffield. She is a compassionate, spirited girl and a real asset to the Bridgerton family. Anthony is smitten with her when he first sees her and they casually date until he proposes to her. After giving some thought to her father’s disapproval of their relationship, Edwina decides to accept Anthony’s proposal and they are married. Their wedding brings together two of the most influential families in London, the Bridgertons and the Sheffields.
Anthony and Edwina go on to have four children of their own. They are the perfect match for each other and the epitome of a fairy-tale wedding. It’s said that Anthony and Edwina had a strong and enduring love for each other and were devoted to their family. They truly were the couple that everyone wanted to be like.
