At the end of the Harry Potter series, Harry marries his long-time best friend and love interest, Ginny Weasley. Harry and Ginny first meet in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, when Ginny is eleven years old and Harry is thirteen. Over the course of the series, Ginny develops a crush on Harry, though Harry remains oblivious to Ginny’s feelings until the fourth book, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. By this point, Harry is more aware of Ginny’s feelings and they become close friends.
In the sixth book, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Ginny begins dating Dean Thomas, and Harry grows jealous. Ultimately, however, Ginny ends her relationship with Dean to be with Harry. Throughout the seventh and final book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the two become increasingly close and ultimately, Harry and Ginny get engaged and married.
Ginny, a member of the Weasley family, is a talented Quidditch player and provides a supportive role for Harry throughout the series. She ultimately proves to be brave and loyal when Harry must face off against Voldemort in the final battle. When the series comes to an end, Harry is happily married to Ginny and they eventually have three children, who, along with their father, possess great magical abilities.
Though the character of Ginny was often overshadowed by her brothers in the series, her strong relationship with Harry and her unwavering loyalty to him makes her a perfect fit as his wife. She provides him with the love and support that he needs to eventually defeat Voldemort and while she starts out young and naïve, she matures into a strong and brave young woman.
