Who Is Candace Parker Married To

Candace Parker is a two-time Olympic gold medalist, two-time WNBA champion, and four-time WNBA MVP basketball player. She is currently a forward for the Los Angeles Sparks in the WNBA. While her on-court success has been well documented, many may be curious to find out who she is married to.

Candace has been married to Shelden Williams since 2008. Williams is also a basketball player and former NBA lottery pick. He played for a number of different teams during his NBA career including the Minnesota Timberwolves, Denver Nuggets, and Atlanta Hawks. He is currently retired but still often trainers and gives back to the game.

The two first started dating shortly after she was drafted by the Los Angeles Sparks in the 2008 WNBA Draft. The two wed in New Orleans a year later. The couple has two children, daughter Lailaa Williams and son Shelden Williams Jr.

In 2010, Candace and Shelden released a book together, “Life As I Know It: From Our Home Court to the Professional Level.” In this book, the couple recounts their journey to success and how their faith and commitment to one another helped them to achieve greatness.

Today, Candace and Shelden continue to be active in the basketball community. Aside from her dedication to her Los Angeles Sparks team, the couple is also involved in philanthropy and promotes their “C’s & S’s 4 Everyone” foundation which helps low-income children in the inner city gain access to sports programs and quality education.
