Emmanuel Acho is an American sports journalist and former professional National Football League (NFL) player. Acho currently serves as the host of Fox Sports 1’s weekly talk show, Speak for Yourself. He was a linebacker for the Philadelphia Eagles, while beginning his career as an undrafted free agent in 2012.
Acho was born in Dallas, Texas and grew up in a multi-generational Nigerian-American home. He attended the University of Texas at Austin, graduating in 2012 with a degree in Corporate Communication. He was an active member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, serving as a volunteer in 2011. During his college career, Acho played for the Longhorns, where he was an All-Big 12 performer and awarded the Bronze Boot for being the best player in the rivalry between Texas and Oklahoma.
After college, Acho was signed to the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent. He went on to have strong performances with the Eagles, earning the respect of his teammates and coaches. Ultimately, he was released after two years and went on to pursue his passion in sports media.
