Gellert Grindelwald is an enigmatic and powerful dark wizard who first appeared in the Harry Potter series. His goal is to bring about a world order in which wizards rule over non-magical people. As one of the most powerful dark wizards of all time, he is a dangerous and formidable enemy and is the main antagonist of the Fantastic Beasts film series.
Born in 1883 in Godric’s Hollow, England, Gellert Grindelwald was a prodigy young wizard, considered one of the best wandsmen of his time. During his teenage years, he became interested in the dark arts and became fascinated by the idea of creating a magical society where people with magic have the power to rule over Muggles (non-magical people). He sought to further his dark agenda by forming an organization known as the Deathly Hallows, which aimed to bring together like-minded students to further their collective ambitions.
In 1945, during the height of his power, Grindelwald was defeated by Albus Dumbledore in a legendary duel to decide the fate of the wizarding world. He was then imprisoned in Nurmengard, a prison fortress. After his defeat, he became the focus of much speculation and fascination, with his history and his unsettled goals remaining a source of intrigue for many.
Despite his defeat, Grindelwald still presents a formidable challenge. He is a master of manipulation and a force to be reckoned with, as he has spent years honing his powerful magical abilities and wielding a mastery of the dark arts that makes him a considerable threat. His vision of wizarding supremacy still remains, and continues to cast a long shadow over the wizarding world.
