Who Is Isis K In Afghanistan

Isis K is one of the most prominent female figures in the recent history of Afghanistan. She has been a powerful advocate for the rights of women and has campaigned for gender equality in the largely patriarchal country.
Born in 1991, Isis K is a journalist, broadcaster and activist who was born in Peshawar, Pakistan, but is of Afghan descent. In 2012, she founded Radio Killid, Afghanistan’s first independent radio station broadcasting in four languages. She was a member of the Constitutional Drafting Committee and is a member of the United Nations Development Program’s High-Level Policy Advisory Group on Gender Equality.
Isis K has been a vocal critic of the Afghan government on human rights issues, including corruption, gender inequality and violence against women. She is also an ardent campaigner for greater recognition and opportunities for women in the media sphere, which has traditionally been dominated by men.
