Salvador Ramos, also known as Kaye Fox-Ramos, is a Colombian-born American lawyer, television journalist, and media program host.
Since 2015, Ramos has served as the executive director of media startup Jacht, a company that produces and distributes educational content for Spanish speakers. He’s also the host and executive producer of the weekly show Reventón Musical, which is part of the Univision/Unimás Network.
In his early career, Ramos began as a telenovela writer and producer in Hollywood. He scripted more than a dozen specials and series, eventually earning credits for dozens of network programs in the United States. He also produced a feature film for Alquimia and Caracol, a Venezuelan production company, in addition to creating and developing various television series for Colombia and other Latin American countries.
Ramos got his legal training from the University of La Salle in Colombia and later obtained a postgraduate degree from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C. in 1997. Afterwards, he specialized in media, broadcasting and international law and obtained a master’s degree from the University of Miami School of Law.
Ramos then joined a Miami-based law firm, becoming a partner and heading the Latin American desk, where he specialized in trademark registration. He then became a litigator and devoted himself to media and entertainment copyright law, in addition to providing legal advice to French, Colombian, Spanish, Latin American and American broadcasters.
During his career, Ramos has worked on high-profile cases in the United States and Colombia. Throughout his work there, he represented artists and had frequent participation in major motion pictures and television shows in the U.S., Latin America, Europe and Asia.
Currently, Ramos is dedicated to consultancy and lectures on media, broadcasting, entertainment and international copyright law. He appears as a professor at various universities in Miami and Bogota, including the University of Miami School of Law and the Universidad Externado of Colombia, among many others.
In 2011, Ramos was the recipient of a distinguished alumni award from the University of Miami School of Law for his work on the journalistic project Expedientes. He also serves as a board member for a non-profit organization in Colombia, where he contributes to the legal safety of journalists.
Overall, Salvador Ramos is a highly accomplished and recognized lawyer, television journalist and media program host who has contributed significantly to the Latin American media and entertainment space.
