Ullah Wali, of Afghanistan, is widely considered the fattest person in the world. He weighed in at an estimated 1,140 pounds in March 2020, making him the newcomer to the unofficial title of ‘world’s heaviest person’.
Wali, who is 65-years-old, resides in the Donkelaar area of Chaghcharan, the capital of Ghor province in Afghanistan. Unfortunately, there is limited information available on Wali, although his size clearly has had a tremendous negative impact on his quality of life. While some reports suggest that he spends most of his time bedridden, other reports say he is able to walk with the assistance of family and friends when necessary.
The main problem for Wali is that he is unable to receive any medical assistance due to his weight and obesity. He has to rely on his family and friends for help if he has any medical emergencies. Also, living in Afghanistan, Wali does not have access to modern medical treatments and technologies that can help him with his condition.
Wali’s weight also prevents many opportunities for employment and economic stability. His condition is largely attributed to lifestyle choices, and it is thought that his excessive eating caused him to become so large.
If Wali does not receive the necessary medical assistance soon, his quality of life – and life expectancy – could be drastically reduced.
