The world’s tallest living person is Turkish-born Sultan Kösen, who stands 8 feet and 3 inches (2.51 meters) tall. Kosen, who is 33 years old, was declared the world’s tallest man in 2009 by Guinness World Records. He was diagnosed with pituitary gigantism, a rare condition that releases high levels of growth hormone.
Kösen, who is from Mardin province in Turkey, received treatment at University of Ankara Medical Faculty between 2008-2011, and his condition is stable after having a tumor operation. He currently lives with his family in his home country and stars in the film Giants of Turkey.
Since Kosen’s growth was stunted in 2019 due to health problems, he is no longer considered the tallest man in the world. The new tallest man is Radhouane Charbib of Tunisia, who stands 8 feet and 2 inches (2.49 meters). Kosen continues to hold the records for the tallest man ever measured, and for the greatest confirmed height for a living person.
Kösen is an incredibly important figure when discussing tall people in the world. His condition has certainly been a boon to medical research, and he serves as an inspiration to tall people everywhere. His incredible body frame may be difficult to comprehend, but it has been nothing but amazing for taller individuals across the globe.
