In the world of Star Wars, Darth Vader is one of the most feared and powerful characters. His dark presence is felt across galaxies, and after his rise to power, no one ever dared to challenge him. But someone did challenge him, and in 2015 the world found out who that was.
At the end of Return of the Jedi, the original trilogy of Star Wars films, Darth Vader sacrificed himself to save his son, Luke Skywalker. This heroic act seemingly ended Vader’s reign of terror and brought peace to the galaxy. However, in the follow-up story, Vader was resurrected and continued to wreak havoc.
In the 2015 novel Star Wars: Aftermath, it was revealed that the person responsible for killing Vader was a Sith Lord named Gallius Rax. He had been planning to use Darth Vader’s death as part of a grander scheme to restore the Sith Empire. Rax killed Vader by dueling him in the ruins of an old Jedi temple and throwing him into a deep chasm.
Although Vader was the antagonist of the original trilogy, his death had a lasting impact on the Star Wars universe. It served as a symbol of hope and redemption, showing that even the biggest villain can be brought down.
So who killed Darth Vader? The answer may have surprised many fans of Star Wars, but it was ultimately Gallius Rax. The mysterious Sith Lord was the one responsible for Vader’s death, and his actions had a permanent effect on the entire galaxy.
