Cars
Corvette cars are a type of luxury sports car that are produced and manufactured by the General Motors division, Chevrolet. The Corvette holds the distinction of being the first mass-produced American sports car, first published in 1953 and has become America’s flagship brand for nearly seven decades.
Their models range from entry level Stingrays to high performance ZR1s, combining both performance and comfort to create a luxurious and iconic sports car. Each model features its own set of performance features, from a manual transmission and track-tuned suspensions to expansive interior and exterior design components.
The Corvette’s chassis and bodies are designed and produced in-house by General Motors at a facility located in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The production process starts by stamping the Corvette’s body from aluminum and steel before adding other design elements, such as walls and hoods, to form the car’s body. Following this, the exterior components – such as the wheels, grilles and engine accessories – are produced and added.
The Corvette models are powered by a range of engines and transmissions, all build in-house. This includes the Corvette’s signature 8-cylinder engine, the LS7, which produces an impressive 640 horsepower at 6500rpm.
Finally, after the engine, transmission, chassis and body have been finalized, they are transported to the Corvette Assembly Plant in Bowling Green, where they are joined together, tested and inspected to ensure quality standards are maintained. Each car undergoes a rigorous quality control process before it is released to the customer.
This process has been in operation since 1953 and is a testament to the dedication of Chevrolet to create the car of your dreams. From returning traditional designs to modern upgrades, the Corvette is designed to be the best sports car for both its performance and luxury.
