Genesis Motors is the luxury vehicle division of the South Korean automobile manufacturer, Hyundai Motor Group. Founded in 2015, the brand started with a new sedan, the Genesis G80, which became the first model to launch in the United States in 2016. Genesis has since grown to include a full model lineup that consists of sedans, crossovers, and SUVs.
The Genesis cars are developed, engineered, and designed by a team of experts from Hyundai and Kia Motors. The cars feature head-of-the-line technology like Shift-by-Wire, Smart Cruise Control and air ionizers to reduce air pollution.
Hyundai designers sought out to create a distinctive and luxurious look for their new vehicles, leading to the development of the Genesis design DNA. This design language is characterized by the intricate use of lines and the curves that adorn the body panels, plus the intricate grille designs inlaid with the iconic "Winged Emblem".
More recently, Genesis launched their own open-source digital platform called Genesis Digital Elements which allows customers to customize the car with various design and technology options. This digital platform delivers a superior user experience, with access to a variety of services and maintenance packages for Genesis owners.
Though as of now, Genesis is still only available in South Korea, the brand has already made an impression in the industry, that could help encourage further success for the brand in the near future. So all in all, Genesis cars are made by Hyundai Motor Group and its affiliated companies.
