Jeep is an iconic American brand known for its rugged and capable off-roading vehicles. It has been a reliable vehicle for outdoor enthusiasts since 1941, and its logo is recognizable in countries around the world. While Jeep is still largely associated with American culture, many people don’t know who makes Jeep today.
Jeep is part of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), an Italian-American car manufacturing company. FCA is the world’s seventh-largest automotive industry, with brands such as Lancia, Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Abarth, and Dodge.
FCA designs and produces the Jeep vehicles, but they aren’t the only company associated with them. Jeep parts and production is sourced from many different suppliers, mostly located in the United States. Powertrain components, such as engines and transmissions, are manufactured by companies including General Motors, Cummins, and Daimler AG. Electrical components, including electronics, wires, and lights come from a variety of companies. Plastic components and body parts are usually sourced from suppliers in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
As a testament to Jeep quality and their commitment to make quality vehicles, their vehicles remain highly rated and sought after. Numerous countries have Jeep dealership networks and it’s easy to recognize a Jeep on the road by its logo.
FCA does not plan to surrender their iconic brand. Jeep will remain a symbol for America, no matter who or where makes them.
