Vodka
Ciroc Vodka is owned by Diageo, a London-based international drinks company that owns a portfolio of spirits, beer and wine brands, such as Johnnie Walker whiskey, Smirnoff vodka, Captain Morgan rum and Guinness beer.
Ciroc Vodka was founded in France in 2003, and initially set out to create super premium vodka using French grapes. It has since made a name for itself in the vodka market through its unique production methods, with its distillation process using a mash of two distinct types of grapes – Mauzac Blanc for base character and Ugni Blanc for finesse.
Diageo acquired Ciroc in 2007 and has since continued to successfully market the brand in the US market, where it has become one of the fastest-growing players in the vodka category since its launch. Since then, the brand has also reached a wider audience, with the brand available in over a hundred countries worldwide.
Diageo has worked hard to build the Ciroc brand’s presence by creating high-profile partnerships and sponsoring celebrity events. In the US, Ciroc has been promoted heavily through partnerships with some of the biggest stars in entertainment and sports, such as Diddy, Jennifer Lopez and Neymar, as well as through its own themed events, TV ad campaigns and social media activity.
Ciroc continues to perform well in the US spirits market, and its success has continued to grow with its presence in new markets. With Diageo continuing to develop the Ciroc brand and invest in building its profile, there looks to be a bright future ahead for this distinctive vodka.
