Fox News is owned by Fox Corporation, which is owned by Rupert Murdoch and his two sons, Lachlan Murdoch and James Murdoch.
Fox Corporation is an American media giant which primarily serves as the parent company of Fox News, one of the most widely-viewed cable news networks in the United States and around the world. The company also owns numerous other entities, including 20th Century Fox, Fox Sports, FX Networks, and Fox Networks Group, amongst others.
Rupert Murdoch, the media tycoon, is the Executive Co-Chairman of the company and holds shares in the parent company that account for around 16.7% of the total voting rights. His two sons, Lachlan Murdoch and James Murdoch are also the Executive Co-Chairmen of the firm.
Fox News became part of the Fox Corporation in 2019, when it was spun off from the parent company 21st Century Fox. 21st Century Fox had been formed as a result of a merger between Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation and the Walt Disney Company. However, Fox News was sold off to the Fox Corporation.
Fox Corporation is headquartered in New York City and its shares are listed on the NASDAQ Exchange under the ticker symbol FOX Corporation. It currently operates broadcasts in over 85 countries across different continents with estimated yearly revenues of more than $10 billion.
