-Benz?
Mercedes-Benz is one of the most iconic luxury car brands in the world. But who really owns Mercedes-Benz? The answer may surprise you.
Mercedes-Benz is owned by the international automotive and mobility multinational Daimler AG. Daimler AG is a German-based autmotive corporation founded in 1926, with its current headquarters in Stuttgart. Daimler AG operates 12 automotive brands, including Mercedes-Benz, smart, and FUSO, and is majority-owned by the German multinational holding company, Daimler AG.
In 1945, the Allied forces occupied Germany and dismantled the Daimler-Benz company. The company eventually was rebuilt and merged with Chrysler Motors in 1998, forming the Chrysler Group. In 2007, the Chrysler Group was sold to the private equity firm Cerberus Capital Management, who then sold off some of its divisions, returning the brand to Daimler in 2013.
Today, Daimler AG owns the Mercedes-Benz brand, and produces a variety of passenger car models like the C-Class, S-Class, G-Class, and AMG. The Daimler AG is known for its commitment to quality, technology, and innovation, and the iconic Mercedes-Benz brand embodies these values.
In 2019, Daimler annual revenue was more than $189 Billion euros, with more than 300,000 employees worldwide. Mercedes-Benz is one of the world’s leading car brands and is recognized as a symbol of luxury and style. It is no wonder that it is owned by a leading automotive corporation, and that this corporation is responsible for the brand’s success.
