Monster Energy is a brand of energy drinks owned and distributed by American multinational Monster Beverage Corporation, formerly known as Hansen Natural Corporation. It was launched in 2002, and it is now a major player in the global energy drinks market.
The company was founded in 1930 by J. Mark Hansen, an enterprising entrepreneur with a thirst for success and a penchant for the beverage industry. Hansen started with the marketing and sales of juice products in retail outlets. His product line eventually expanded to include energy drinks and other items. In 1976, Hansen Natural Corporation was established and became a publicly-traded company in 1993.
