Halloween Kills is the highly-anticipated sequel to 2018’s Halloween and the eleventh installment in the Halloween franchise. Directed by David Gordon Green and co-written by Green, Danny McBride, and Scott Teems, the movie will follow Jamie Lee Curtis’ character Laurie Strode, who is still reeling from the events of the 40 years prior, as she prepares to confront Michael Myers once again.
The Halloween franchise is known for its iconic villain Michael Myers, and Halloween Kills will be no exception. The film will see the return of actor James Jude Courtney as the iconic killer. Courtney is known for his appearances in numerous television shows and for the role of Phil in the musical series Glee.
Curtis, who has created the powerful role of Laurie Strode for five of the 11 Halloween movies, will return alongside Courtney. This marks the first time Courtney is playing Michael Myers in a feature film, although he previously acted as a “stunt double” for actor Nick Castle in the 2018 installment, who reprised his iconic role of Myers from the original 1978 version.
Courtney has said that he’s excited to bring his own take on Michael Myers to the big screen, and he has even commented that the role is his “dream come true.” He was chosen to play the villain by director David Gordon Green, who said that Courtney had the physicality and look for the role, and that he just “needed a little help” to hone his performance.
The film is set to be released on October 15, 2021, and fans are eagerly awaiting to watch Courtney’s performance as the unstoppable horror killer.
