The Witcher television series, based on the fantasy novel series by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski, is one of the most popular shows currently streaming on Netflix. While the show is filled with beloved characters from the written series, many new faces have been added to bring the characters to life on the small screen.

Henry Cavill, a well-known actor who has appeared in movies such as Mission Impossible: Fallout and the DC Comics superhero films, takes the lead as Geralt of Rivia. Freya Allan, a British actress, plays Cirilla Fiona Elen Riannon, best known as Ciri, a young girl with magical powers.

Anya Chalotra from England plays Yennefer of Vengerberg, a powerful female character who is often regarded as a central and key figure in the story. Jodhi May, who had previously worked alongside Henry Cavill in BBC drama The Tudors and BBC mini-series Gunpowder, plays Queen Calanthe.

The main antagonist of The Witcher, the Law of Surprise, is played by Lars Mikkelsen. Mikkelsen is best known for his role in the Danish TV series, The Killing, and also recently appeared in the Netflix series House of Cards.

Joey Batey, a British musician and actor, portrays wandering bard Jaskier, who is beloved by many fans of the show. Dance Fever alum MyAnna Buring stars as Tissaia de Vries and Eamon Farren plays Cahir, who is a character from the novels.

Several other actors round out the cast of The Witcher, bringing the beloved characters to life in front of millions of viewers around the world. Fans of The Witcher can look forward to a second season of the show, due to start streaming later this year on Netflix.
