Famous for her 2014 country music hit, "Fancy," Canadian-born singer, songwriter and rapper, Iggy Azalea, is one artist who sings ‘Fancy’.

Born Amethyst Amelia Kelly, Azalea first rose to fame in 2011 when her first music video for “Pu$$y” was released. She moved from Australia to the United States in 2011, settling in Atlanta, Georgia and signed to Island Records.

Azalea first released “Fancy” on February 17, 2014 as the single to her debut album The New Classic. The accompanying music video for the song was also released the same day and is considered one of the most successful and popular songs of the year.

Produced by The Invisible Men, the song features British singer-songwriter Charli XCX, who also co-wrote the lyrics. It blends rap verses, heavy synth beats and influences from classic hip-hop.

The song reached number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, becoming the first number 1 song for both Azalea and XCX. It was also number 1 in some European countries, Canada and Australia. The song also won two Billboard Music Awards, including Top Rap Song as well as an American Music Award for Favorite Song – Rap/Hip-Hop.

Azalea has grown to become a very successful artist, gaining many fans and appearing on the covers of various magazines. She has also won a number of awards and been nominated for the top awards in both the music industry and the fashion industry. Her most recent album, In My Defense, was released in July 2019.
