The 2020 presidential election has yet to be completed and the next presidential election in 2024 is still four years away. But it is never too early to start speculating who may be running for president in 2024.
The 2024 presidential election will be the 58th quadrennial U.S. presidential election and will take place on November 8, 2024. While it is too soon to know who will actually be running in the election, there are already names being speculated.
Some potential Democratic nominees for 2024 include current Vice President, Kamala Harris, Senators Elizabeth Warren and Cory Booker, former First Lady Michelle Obama, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, or Senator Kirsten Gillibrand.
On the Republican side, 2024 potential nominees could include former President Donald Trump, former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley, Governor Greg Abbott of Texas, or Senator Tom Cotton. If former Vice President Mike Pence opts out of the race, Donald Trump would be the likely nominee.
Other potential candidates who may enter the 2024 presidential race include Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Starbucks founder Howard Schultz, or even former President Barack Obama.
Given the unpredictability of the current political climate, the potential candidates for the next presidential election are still unclear. Who will run for president in 2024 will depend largely on who wins the 2020 election, as well as on evolving perspectives in the political climate.
