Ink Master season 3 debuted on Spike TV on April 23, 2013 and aired its finale on July 16, 2013. The competition was the first season to feature Jeff Tremaine as the new host. Twelve contestants competed in the only season to feature live judging with celebrity guest judges and a $100,000 grand prize.
The winner of Ink Master season 3 was Joey "Hollywood" Hamilton, a tattoo artist from Las Vegas, Nevada. Hamilton was the only contestant to have no tattooing experience prior to the competition. However, it was his immense natural talent and willingness to learn that earned him the title of Ink Master and the $100,000 grand prize.
Throughout the competition, Hamilton impressed the judges with his bravado, original designs and exceptional eye for detail. His skill earned him four top spot finishes and two consecutive Flash Challenge wins during the season.
The finale of Ink Master season 3 was an intense matchup between Hamilton and rival contestant Amarie Lee, a ten-year veteran in the tattoo industry. Despite her experience, it was Hamilton who ultimately won out and earned the title of Ink Master.
Now, six years later, Hamilton is still tattooing and specializing in black and gray realism work. His work has been featured in various magazines and film documentaries and he has earned the respect of his peers in the tattoo industry.
