Wagon Wheel, the popular Country song written by Bob Dylan, is one of the most beloved country classics. The song, which was released in 2013, has become a staple in the Country music scene and is known for its catchy sing-along chorus.
The song was written by Dylan and Ketch Secor, a founding member of the American old-time string band "Old Crow Medicine Show". They wrote the song in 2003, when Secor wrote the chorus to the song while Dylan wrote the lyrics. The song was then recorded by Dylan in the same year and released in his album, "Modern Times".
Wagon Wheel eventually found its way to Old Crow Medicine Show and became a hit single when released in 2004. Secor and his bandmates re-recorded the song, featuring an acoustic line-up rather than Dylan’s original blues-infused version. The song was soon adopted by many other artists, including Darius Rucker who made the song popular among Country audiences.
Today, Wagon Wheel is one of the most popular country songs in the world, and is still played at many country music events. It has been covered by hundreds of artists, including Willie Nelson, The Band, Willie Nelson and Zac Brown Band. Secor and Dylan’s songwriting partnership has resulted in one of the most beloved classics in Country music.
